Welcome to the new site for KnechtMusic, where you may find award winning downloadable sheet music for LDS and Christian services.

Choral and vocal music, from SATB hymn arrangements, to contemporary solo ballads, to full cantatas with narration may be viewed, downloaded and printed freely from this web site, for perusal purposes. If you choose to perform the music, you pay a modest per-copy license fee. It is a system similar to "music shareware" (although, some pieces on this site are completely free downloads). Hard copies of certain pieces are also available for you to order.

What is the KnechtMusic "shareware" method of purchasing copyright license for downloadable sheet music (in a nutshell)?

1. Look over the KnechtMusic score lists, find a title that you'd like to look over and/or rehearse, and click on it to download. You may view and print entire Perusal-Only Scores, and try them out with your choir before purchasing copyright license.

2. Photocopy all the sheet music you'll need for yourself (or your choir or ensemble) and accompanist, and start rehearsing right away! If you decide not to use the music, you will not need to pay for it. Just discard the copies, of give them to a friend who might be interested. If you give the copies to a friend, be sure to include a blank COPY LICENSE AND REGISTRATION FORM.

3. If you decide to perform the music or use it in any way, you will need to pay the appropriate licensing fee applicable to Knecht Music. This is a per-copy fee for the photocopies you plan to make, and for your downloaded copy. Knecht Music provides you with the convenience of immediate downloading and rehearsing, free perusal, and affordable sheet music; we ask in return that you demonstrate your integrity by making your perusal copies legal. To do this, simply fill in and submit the COPY LICENSE AND REGISTRATION FORM on this web site, then send check or money order to the KnechtMusic address on the form (or print the form and mail a completed copy with your check). The link to this form on all pages of this site is called "Legalize Perusal-Only Scores."

4. When we receive your payment and registration form, we will e-mail (or U.S. mail, at your request) a password to you. With this password you will be able to access, download and photocopy a legalized first page to your perusal score, which will replace the Perusal-Only first page. You won't have to replace all the pages of your perusal copies--only the first page of each copy must be replaced). To use the password and access your legal first page, click on the DOWNLOAD LEGAL PAGE link.

5. You will need to submit another completed registration form and mail the appropriate fees if you must make additional photocopies. Visit the HELP/FAQ page for more details about downloading, and about ordering hard copies of sheet music.
